Quieter times ahead for a bit

Another soaker last night, most of the area received between 1-2″ of rainfall, adding to a very wet January.

Boston is now over 5″ of water this month, the wettest month since September of 2021!  The City has measured rain on a whopping 19 of 26 days.

Thankfully, it appears as though things will quiet down for the remainder of the month.  We have a couple chances of lighter precipitation but no major storms in the forecast for the next several days.

Temperatures have hit their peak this morning, topping 50 degrees in a large part of the area.  We will see a gradual drop this afternoon and evening, along with continued gusty winds.  In fact, there is still a wind advisory up for the Cape and Islands through 7pm tonight.

We finally get a mostly SUNNY day on Friday!  Temperatures cooler than today but still not bad for late January.

This Weekend looks mostly quiet and dry.

Saturday we tick up into the 40s…

We will see increasing clouds on Sunday with some light rain showers possible late in the day or overnight.

Looking farther out, the next timeframe to watch would be the middle of next week for some potential storminess.  We still do not see any major or long lasting cold in the near future.
