Pleasant, mild weekend ahead

Happy Friday!

I don’t know about you but after another cloudy and wet week I am looking forward to a quiet weekend!

This January is shaping up to be one of the cloudiest months on record in Boston.  At the same time, it is also the wettest month we have had in over a year and will likely finish as a top 5 warmest January on record!

Remember last January?  Not only were we preparing for a monster blizzard at this time last year, but the month was WICKED cold.

We are going to finish Jan 2023 about 10 degrees warmer (per day average) and with 30″ LESS snow than last Jan.

Anyhow, some good news as we head into the weekend…

-No major storms

-No major cold

-The mild temperatures continue

-And, a little bit of sunshine!

Saturday will start off with some clouds and a few isolated flurries, but we should manage to get some sunshine during the day.  Temperatures will top out in the mid to upper 40s.

We will have increasing and thickening clouds on Sunday and by the evening there will be some scattered rain showers and sprinkles around.  We should hit or top 50 in many towns across eastern MA.  Keep in mind, average daytime highs this time of year are in the upper 30s!

Looking ahead to next week, we will have a fast moving pattern with a few threats of rain or snow showers early and mid week.  At this point there is no obvious sign of any major storms, however there may be a fairly potent cold shot towards the end of the week.

Couple other notes for next week…

Groundhog day is on Thursday and

We have our first 5pm sunsets on Friday!

Have a great weekend!
