Active pattern with bouts of wind and rain

The WBZ Weather Team is continuing the NEXT Weather Alert for the rain and wind coming Wednesday afternoon and evening.

November going out with a bang…We are in for a wild 24 hours as a windswept soaker is on the way.

TIMELINE:

2pm- Wednesday Rain is quickly overspreading the area from west to east…heaviest in western MA, just arriving in parts of eastern MA.  Winds will be steadily increasing, averaging about 15-30mph (steady) with gusts to 40mph.

5pm- A miserable ride home…heavy, torrential downpours in central and eastern MA.  Localized flooding and ponding on the roads.  Winds will be nearing their peak, gusting 30-50mph out of the south.

8pm- The rain will taper off to the west…the last downpours will exit the Coastline in the 8pm hour.  The peak winds will be over southeastern MA at this time, still gusting to near 50mph.  To the west of Boston the winds will begin to shift into the west and taper just a bit.

From there, the rest of the night will remain dry and while the winds will be past their peak, we will stay gusty all night long (generally 20-40mph).

Same deal on Thursday…Sunshine returns but the winds stay busy, gusting over 40mph at times.

By Thursday night, the winds will begin to ease, gusting between 15-30mph at the Pats game.

Friday is quiet and will be the best day of the next several to get outdoors and hang your holiday decorations.

The active pattern continues this Weekend with another windswept rain event Saturday PM and a windy, chilly Sunday
