Decent weekend forecast, end of Daylight Saving Time

Happy Friday!

Very pleasant day today to end the week.  Good deal of sunshine, and I would remind you, enjoy that ride home today in the daylight, this weekend we descend into darkness.

Sunday morning at 2am, we turn the clocks back an hour, meaning you get an extra hour of sleep.

Of course, on the flip side, the sunset on Sunday will be at 4:33pm.

Sunsets will continue getting earlier and earlier through early December when we bottom out at 4:11pm.  I think the bears have the right idea…why not just hibernate?  Wake me up when we turn the clocks ahead on March 10!

I suppose it could always be worse…in parts of Alaska they will go nearly 2 months in the dark.  Literally no sunshine from mid-November through late January!

Anyhow, enough of this depressing news…Let’s move onto the weekend

Temperatures on both Saturday and Sunday will top out in the mid to upper 50s.  If we get a bit more sunshine, we could nick 60 in some areas.  However, I do think there will be a good deal of cloudiness around, likely enough to keep most towns in the 50s.

Winds will be light all weekend long, making for good raking conditions.  Ahh yes, nothing like the sound of leaf blowers in the fall…

Headed to Gillette to watch our beloved Patriots?  At least the weather will be a winner!

Our next chance of any significant rainfall comes Tuesday of next week.  Doesn’t look like anything major, just some scattered showers.  I certainly wouldn’t say we NEED the rain but, since the start of October, Boston is running more than 2″ below the average.

Have a great weekend!
