It’s FRIDAY!!!!!!
First off, happy 75th anniversary WBZ!
Today also marks the 70th anniversary of the infamous Worcester tornado…the most destructive and deadly New England tornado in recorded history.
The tornado formed in Petersham and was on the ground for 84 minutes, taking 94 lives.
Tune in tonight at 5/6p for a look back with Jacob. We have some amazing video from 1953.
Ok, back to some more uplifting news…The nearly stationary storm system that has been responsible for the clouds and rain this week is finally about to head out to sea. LATER!!
We get one final spoke of downpours this afternoon…not expecting any severe weather but again, another day watching radar.
We will start to see and feel improvement on Saturday.
While I cannot rule out a passing shower, the overall coverage will be much less than the last few days. I also think we will see times of sunshine, which will help to push temperatures near or slightly over 70.
We have a good chance of hitting 80 degrees on Sunday and Monday!
Our next chance of significant rain looks to come on Tuesday next week.
So, while I wouldn’t call it a perfect weekend, compared to where we have been this week, it is going to feel much nicer. Enjoy!
