Chance of hitting 90 this week

Happy Monday!  Er, sorry I mean Happy Tuesday!

Gotta love it when it feels like a Monday but it is actually TUESDAY!

WHAT A WEEKEND!  Hope you got to get out and enjoy!  The absolute opposite of that terrible Memorial Weekend washout we had two years ago.

This week, more of the same!

Other than some wildfire smoke in the sky today (more on that later), skies will remain clear and dry.

Temperatures will be rising over the next few days…

Tomorrow:

Thursday we may touch 90 in a few areas:

Same deal on Friday…but likely with a few more clouds around later in the day.

Our one and only chance of rain comes early on Saturday.  We will work on the timing of this, but for now, it looks like odds favor the first half of the day for showers and storms.

The Weekend will be much cooler and Sunday looks like the pick!

Quick blog on wildfire smoke:

Did you notice a bit of a haze or brownish-tinge in the sky today?  Once again, we are dealing with some wildfire smoke from a distant, Canadian fire.

Over the last few weeks, it was coming from thousands of miles away in western Canada.  Today, the smoke comes from the opposite direction, from the northeast, from Nova Scotia.

Currently, there are multiple, out-of-control wildfires burning outside of Halifax.  The wildfires have consumed and destroyed numerous homes and are causing thousands to flee for safety.

The winds today just so happen to be blowing out of the northeast from Nova Scotia to southern New England.  So, their air is our air, at least for the time being.

Later today, the winds will shift to the southeast, pushing most of the smoke away from the Coast, farther inland and northwest.

Over the next couple days, winds will shift to more of a south-southwesterly direction and most of the smoke will be dispersed and unnoticeable.
