Much better weekend forecast

Gorgeous Thursday on tap today and a much-improved weekend forecast as well!

We will see lots of sunshine today, just a few passing clouds in northern MA and southern New Hampshire at times.  Highs today will generally reach between 65-70.

Friday will be another sparkling, blue day, albeit a bit cooler, with highs about 5 degrees cooler than today.

I am delighted to report that the weekend forecast is looking much drier!  It now appears as though the storm system will pass far enough to our south to keep most of New England dry!

There could be a few light sprinkles or showers along the immediate South Coast during Saturday afternoon and evening…to the north of there, up through about the Mass Pike, there is a very slight chance/low risk of a few sprinkles.  Bottom line, any outdoor plans should be good to go, even south of the Pike…nothing even approaching a washout anywhere.

Temperatures this Weekend will top out between 60-65 in eastern MA, a bit cooler west of 495 and up north.

It will be a great weekend for a road trip to the Lakes and Mountains.  Again, coolish and a bit breezy, but dry and partly sunny.

The foliage has been just OK this season.  The warm and wet summer/fall has caused the colors to be spotty at best.

We are expecting peak color this weekend in parts of northern Worcester county, the Berkshires and up through central New England including the Lakes Region around Winnipesaukee.  Again, temper expectations, peak color in 2023 is not as vibrant and widespread as in past years.

In far northern New England, there is already quite a bit of leaf drop.
