Spring has sprung!

Happy First Day of Astronomical Spring!

The Vernal Equinox officially occurs at 5:24pm today…that is the point in time when the Sun’s rays are passing directly over the equator.  From here, the Earth will begin its tilt towards the sun in the northern hemisphere.

More good news this week…Thursday marks the first day this year with sunsets at 7pm or later!

Lastly, one not so fun note with the start of spring…the tree pollen levels are getting high.  Over the next few days, with the sunny, dry weather, the Poplar and Juniper tree pollen will be spiking.

We have our first WINNER day on the 7day in quite some time!  Tuesday will feature highs near or slightly above 60 degrees in many towns in eastern MA with lots of sunshine!

Wednesday will start off great but we will see some increasing clouds late in the day in advance of our next rain storm.

Looks like some rain showers in most of the area on Thursday.

And then we come to the weekend…Most models are bringing another storm system close by to southern New England and there may be just enough cold air around to produce some wintry mix or snow in parts of our area, particularly in the elevated areas again.  We will keep a close eye on this storm and have much more to say about it in the days to come.  For now, I wouldn’t put the shovels away just yet!
