More dry times ahead

Day 22, no rain!

Today marks 22 consecutive days in Boston with no measurable rainfall.  That is the longest streak in 25 years and we have now cracked the top 10 longest dry streaks on record!

Looking ahead, the only chance for any rain will be on Friday.  And at that, the chance is very low.

There may be just a few, isolated sprinkles late in the day.

Beyond that, another prolonged stretch of dry weather including a terrific weekend!

Got Pats tickets?  Grab the shorts!  Temperatures will be in the low to mid 80s during the afternoon.

So, when is the next REAL chance of rain?

Models are hinting at storm development off the southeast Coastline this Weekend.  Whatever develops will be very slow to move northward thanks to the protective dome of high pressure parked over the Northeast.

We certainly are not guaranteed to get any heavy rainfall but if this area of low pressure does move far enough north, we could be in for some tropical downpours.

In other news…Hurricane Francine will be making landfall tonight along the Louisiana Coastline.  Peak winds are expected to be close to 90mph and there will also be a good deal of Coastal and Inland flooding.

And finally, sunset today is at 7pm.  This will be the last 7pm or later sunset until next spring….ugh.

We are losing massive amounts of daylight right now, about 3 minutes per day!
