Description: Backyard Astronomy on the Town Common: Using the Library’s Orion Starblast 4.5″ Circulating Telescope, Friday, June 26th at 7:30 p.m.
Learn how to use the Library’s new telescope that adults will be able to check out with their Westford Library card! This free Library program, for all ages, starts off in the Library’s ground floor Meeting Room with a presentation by the Aldrich Astronomical Society(the rest of the Library will be closed.) After the presentation we’ll all venture out to the Town Common to discover what objects lie within reach of this amazing telescope. The Aldrich Astronomical Society will award door prizes to a few lucky participants. Space themed activities and door prizes (generously funded by the Friends of the J.V. Fletcher Library) will engage those not actively using the Telescope. The Orion Starblast Telescope was generously donated to the Library by Materion Precision Optics and UPS and will be maintained by the Aldrich Astronomical Society.
