Description: Are Our Kids Becoming Too Commericialied?
Today’s marketing-driven media culture has a serious impact on our kids.
Childhood obesity, eating disorders, youth violence, sexualization, family
stress, underage alcohol and tobacco use, and rampant materialism are all
exacerbated by advertising and marketing. Concerned?

Join the Westford Parent Connection and the Westford Health Department Tuesday, January 24, 2012 for the presentation, Consuming Kids: The
Commercialization Of Childhood.

The speaker is Dr. Susan Linn, an instructor in psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and co-founder and director of the Campaign For A Commercial-Free Childhood (CCFC).
She has written extensively about the effects of media and commercial marketing
on children. Dr. Linn’s talk is being held in the Stony Brook Middle School
auditorium, and will begin at 7:00 p.m.
