Description: Mark your calendar for CatFish Fry Dinner on Friday, May 13 at the Apple Blossom Festival 2011. The event will be held in the cafeteria of the Abbot Middle School . This is a major fundraisingt for the Youth Missions program and their trip to Mississippi.
The Fish Fry event, will be bringing back an old Westford Apple Blossom Festival tradition for St. Catherine’s (a Friday night Fish Fry dinner) to help support a new Westford tradition of teens reaching out to serve others in need…both locally and around the world. Here are the details:
Date / Time: Friday, May 13, 2011 / meals served from 4:00 – 9:00pm
Location: Abbot School cafeteria (via rear entrance across from Millenium School)
Menu: Traditional southern fried catfish, french fries, corn fritters, coleslaw and baked beans.
Come and enjoy a traditional Gulf coast meal. It’s the Thursday night dinner for our teens in Mississippi…and it’s the one meal they rave about each year! So don’t miss this opportunity to get a “Taste of the Mississippi Mission trip” and to meet our hosts from Mississippi, Karen & Glenn Parker. We’re flying then up to do all the cooking with their secret recipe…so you know it’s the real deal! (And since they lived through the hurricanes and witnessed the devastation first hand, you’ll be amazed and inspired by the stories they tell.)
Cost: $10.00 per meal (drinks & desserts not included)
Tickets: Advance purchase (preferred; see instructions below) or available at door
Entertainment: Provided by local bluegrass favorite, Boston Road
We ask that you please purchase your tickets as soon as possible. This will help us order the correct amount of catfish (which must be ordered 2 weeks before the event from a catfish farm in Louisiana). And since we expect strong demand, purchasing your tickets early will help us better coordinate serving times. So please request your tickets and desired seating times at the following site:
