September 2018 newsletter

September 2018

Hello Friends,

Welcome to a new season at the PCA!  We’re ready to go with a new lineup of talented local artists and the best live music in the area! In addition to our monthly art exhibitions and our rock/blues, jazz, classical, piano, and comedy events, we are thrilled to announce the debut of our Folk/World Music series, featuring some of the genre’s most notable and celebrated performers. We’ll explore the rich tapestry of sounds and cultures from Scotland and Ireland to the Near and Far East to American Roots.

In the gallery this September and October we will display “Food as Art”, the works of local photographer Julie L’Heureux. Julie believes that food’s daily role in our lives and its deep, far-reaching cultural history touches each and every one of us. Through this exhibit, L’Heureux shares her connection between food and art. Learn more from Julie L’Heureux at her art reception on Sunday, October 14th from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. which is free and open to the public. See her work on Sundays in October from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. and by appointment from September 4th through October 30th

Other special events happening this month include a songwriter’s workshop and concert featuring Three New England Songwriters: John Schindler, Tom Smith, and our own John Ferullo this Saturday, September 8th and the Habitat for Humani-Tea Fundraiser on Sunday, September 16th to benefit the LeBlanc family home in Westford.

We finish out the month with a Stand-up Comedy show featuring Paul Nardizzi and Rob Steen. Tickets for all PCA-sponsored events are on sale now. Visit our website for details,westford.org/pca or email pca@westford.org.

The Parish Center for the Arts is very fortunate to have a large base of members, supporters, and volunteers who participate in the success of our beloved organization. We couldn’t do it without you, and look forward to celebrating the arts with you again this year! Visit our homepage at westford.org/pca, for the latest PCA news, and continue reading for more details of upcoming September events…

Best regards,

Sandy Wright
PCA Manager
