The PCA presents two multi-award winning woman songwriters in an amazing split bill. Cosy Sheridan and Shanna-in-a-Dress are outstanding songwriters and wonderful entertainers. This promises to be a very memorable night.

Cosy Sheridan with Charlie Koch

Cosy Sheridan has been called “one of the era’s finest and most thoughtful songwriters.” She first appeared on the national folk scene in 1992 when she won the songwriting contests at The Kerrville Folk Festival and The Telluride Bluegrass Festival. She has been on the road ever since. “You can’t make it into double digits, and continue touring for twenty or so years, unless you know what you’re doing, and do it well,” wrote The Chicago Examiner.

Her CD My Fence & My Neighbor was in the Top 10 of 2018 on folk radio. Her release Pretty Bird was listed among Sing Out Magazine’s Great CDs of 2014.

She plays a percussive bluesy guitar style backed by the strong rhythms and harmonies of her bass player Charlie Koch. She was a voice student at Berklee College of Music, and a guitar student of legendary finger style players Eric Schoenberg and Guy Van Duser. She has performed at Carnegie Hall, The Cowgirl Hall of Fame and on the Jerry Lewis Telethon.

Cosy teaches classes in songwriting, performance and guitar at workshops and adult music camps across the country. She is the director of Moab Folk Camp in Moab, Utah.

ShannaShanna-in-a-Dress

Shanna-in-a-Dress is your quirky best friend who refuses to wear pants. She says what everyone is thinking but no one else will say and you’ll get an uncensored journey of clever humor and heartbreak with a hefty side of entertainment at her shows. This witty wordsmith is known for making audiences laugh and cry, sometimes in the same song. Think Jason Mraz mixed with Ingrid Michaelson with a twist of Phoebe Buffay from Friends all wrapped up in a sweet voice accented by guitar, piano, and ukulele.

In 2020, Shanna was a winner in the Kerrville New Folk competition, winner of the Great River Folk Fest Song Competition, a semi-finalist in Songwriter Serenade, and a Grassy Hill Emerging Artist at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. Her debut record’s wildly successful crowdfunding campaign reached 50% of its goal the day it was launched before ending up at 200% of the original goal. The album titled “Robot” is scheduled for release in November 2021. Shanna is currently bicycling across the US and music touring in support of Pangaea World Foundation and her debut record.
