Margaret Helfer Herlehy, Oboe

David Newsam is a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he works as an Assistant Professor of Guitar. He also directs the Guitar program at the University of New Hampshire. Newsam performs solo and group engagements throughout New England and is a former Director of the Boston Classical Guitar Society.

Margaret Helfer Herlehy received her formal training at the University of Michigan and Sarah Lawrence College, where she remained as Artist in Residence for a five year tenure. Born into a musical family in New Rochelle, New York, she has studied with and coached world renowned artists — including Lois Wann (Pittsburgh Symphony, Julliard School), Claus Adam (Julliard String Quartet), Arno Mariotti (Detroit Symphony), Chester Biscardi(Composer), and prolific 12 tone composer Meyer Kupferman. Herlehy is an active chamber musician and performer throughout the United States and Europe. Her performance career began as a soloist and chamber musician in New York City, premiering over 20 works for oboe at Carnegie Recital Hall. She is a resident artist in Music at the University of New Hampshire, and she performs with the faculty trio Sospiri.

About the PCA

Parish Center for the ArtsThe PCA is a warm, intimate performance venue that seats up to 125 people in a historic former church building at Westford Common. Each season we present New England’s best Folk, Jazz, Classical, Rock, and Comedy shows. As a non-profit community arts center, we also feature rotating art exhibits, barn dances, open mics, and theater performances.
