North Sea Gas is one of Scotland’s most popular folk bands with great vocals and tremendous three-part harmonies. Dave Gilfillan, Ronnie MacDonald, and Grant Simpson perform traditional, contemporary and self-penned material on guitar, mandolin, fiddle, bouzouki, harmonica, whistles, bodhrans and banjo with compelling skill and infectious good humor. They are regulars at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and tour throughout Europe, North America, Turkey and, most recently, at the Rosslyn Chapel.

Here’s what people are saying about North Sea Gas:

“The band displays an attachment and a reverence for their roots from the very start. The music feels genuine, unpretentious and spontaneous, with a fondness for storytelling and beautiful harmonies.”

We’re a perfect fit for functions and celebrations where a sense of sophistication sans snootiness is desired. Our genre: Nouveau classic jazz with contemporary spice.

Sunday, April 23th, 2017, 3:00 pm – Harmonie Transverse

Harmonie Transverse, a flute ensemble, was formed in 2002 by flutists who performed with the  New England  Conservatory’s Metropolitan Flute Orchestra. These musicians, who are performers, teachers, parents, and artists, play a wide range of flutes. These include the piccolo, C Flute, G Alto Flute, Bass Flute and Contra Bass Flute, which provide a six octave range nearly covering the full range of a piano and an orchestra.

Harmonie Transverse is part of the  Artist in Residence program  (AIR) at  Wachusett Regional High School  and is supported by TEMPO (To Encourage Musical Performance Opportunities) the music booster’s group at the High School. The group takes its name from the word  Harmonie  for “wind band”  and  Transverse  for “side blown flute”.

Members of Harmonie Transverse have performed with the New England Conservatory in recent concert tours in France, Ireland, Germany, Austria, and Slovakia, as well as performing at several recent National Flute Conventions. Over the past decade, Harmonie Transverse has performed as part of Trinity Lutheran Church Concert Series, the Danforth Art Series, Berlin’s Holiday kick-off, Wachusett Regional High School Black Box Concert Series, Charlton Middle School, and at several weddings. We look forward to bringing our special mixture of well known classical music as well as music specifically written for flute choir to Westford and the PCA!

Concert is FREE. Email questions to HarmonieTransverse@gmail.com.

If you laugh and cry within the same ten minutes, you either need a vacation or you are sitting in the audience at a Don White show. This working class family man from Lynn, Massachusetts has emerged as the thoughtful songwriter of the decade whose relevance to our lives is evidenced by the powerful reaction he evokes at every concert. Radio audiences, too, are not safe from the Don White experience.
