Meet the Board of Directors

President, Dan Lacroix - Dan has lived in Westford since 1987 and has served on the WHS board since 2000. Though he enjoys learning about all aspects of Westford's history, he is particularly interested in 18th century Westford, and has conducted research into Westford's Revolutionary War experience and the veterans who served. (Much of the work can be found at www.westford1775.org.) His interests in woodworking and 18th c. reenacting have enabled him to periodically demonstrate the work of the 18th c. house joyner, using tools he has reproduced from period originals. His other interests include early New England vernacular architecture and photography.

Vice President, Jim Clark - Jim has always been a history buff. In addition to history, he studied political science, international relations, Chinese culture, politics and language. He served in the Navy, worked for the government and engineering firms, and taught school. He and his wife have lived in Westford for 34 years, and raised two children here. Retired, he often substitutes at Westford Academy. He has been a member of the Westford Historical Society Board since 2008.

Treasurer, Jack Mangan - Jack and his wife moved to Westford in 1987. He holds a BA in history with a minor in political science. He lives on Nabnasset Lake with his wife and two daughters.

Madonna McKenzie

George Murray - George and his wife have lived in Westford since 1972. Most of his involvement with the Town has been through his service on the School Committee and the Permanent School Building Committee. George served on the Building Committee through six school building projects, and since 1984 has provided the School Department with annual projections of future enrollment in the school system. His interest in the Historical Society and the history of his adopted town was initially motivated by his research into the history of the Westford Academy bell during the renovation and expansion of the Academy.

Lisa Sama - Lisa joined the Board in early 2017. She has been teaching engineering to middle school kids for 15 years. She enjoys photography, antiquing, reading, and visiting museums.
