PCA presents “Harmonie Transverse” 3 pm

Title: PCA presents “Harmonie Transverse” 3 pm
Location: PCA 10 Lincoln St.
Description: Sunday, April 24th, 2016, 3:00 pm – Harmonie Transverse

Harmonie Transverse, a flute ensemble, was formed in 2002 by flutists who performed with the New England Conservatory’s Metropolitan Flute Orchestra. These musicians, who are performers, teachers, parents, and artists, play a wide range of flutes. These include the piccolo, C Flute, G Alto Flute, Bass Flute and Contra Bass Flute, which provide a six octave range nearly covering the full range of a piano and an orchestra.

Harmonie Transverse is part of the Artist in Residence program (AIR) at Wachusett Regional High School and is supported by TEMPO (To Encourage Musical Performance Opportunities) the music booster’s group at the High School. The group takes its name from the word Harmonie for “wind band” and Transverse for “side blown flute”.

Members of Harmonie Transverse have performed with the New England Conservatory in recent concert tours in France, Ireland, Germany, Austria, and Slovakia, as well as performing at several recent National Flute Conventions. Over the past decade, Harmonie Transverse has performed as part of Trinity Lutheran Church Concert Series, the Danforth Art Series, Berlin’s Holiday kick-off, Wachusett Regional High School Black Box Concert Series, Charlton Middle School, and at several weddings. We look forward to bringing our special mixture of well known classical music as well as music specifically written for flute choir to Westford and the PCA!

Concert is FREE. Email questions to HarmonieTransverse@gmail.com.
